My film "Inde, derrière les rêves" ("Beyond the India of Dreams") , telecast on Télé-Québec this March, is my first attempt at directing a documentary. I was lucky to have Robert Cornellier, one of Montreal's  best-known documentary film makers, as my co-director. Robert and I have known each other for over 15 years and have worked on many projects together. We pooled our skills for this project because Robert loves India and this was one more opportunity ...And I have been following the unfolding HIV and AIDS epidemic in this country for many years. The film owes a lot to the field work I did  while documenting an innovative pilot project funded by the Canadian International Development Agency. The project called 'HAMARA' tried to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS among families of migrant workers from Rajasthan and the young men who were moving from the villages in the desert state to cities like Mumbai.  The film is in French  but I am working on a Hindi and English version.
